Welcome to Cathy's Kitchen — my life's long journey.
Having grown up in a Lebanese pastry and bakery, lived with my grandmother for many years who solely cooked every possible Lebanese tabkha, and spent countless hours in the restaurant kitchen with my grandfather and uncle — one might say I was born to be a kitchen witch.
Over time, slowly I've been allowing myself to lean into this love I have for cooking for friends and family. I fell in love with baking sourdough bread after learning and acquiring some starter at a beautiful community of sisters I've been gathering with for the last few years. This community has been a major source of encouragement and support on my journey in the kitchen.
I'm learning that my dishes will almost always turn out to be my own twist on everything I've learned from my family, who've inspired me throughout my life in all their different ways of cooking and baking.
I hope to continue spreading the love and flavours from my ancestors in Lebanon! And I really do mean LOVE. I'm a big believer that the love one pours into their cooking and baking transpires in the taste and experience. 💛
